About the venue
Bruntingthorpe covers a total of 650 acres and has a 60 metre wide 2 mile long straight. Speed on Wheels will be taking advantage of various alternative looped circuits that are available, to enable us to separate manufacturers and keen car enthusiasts who want to use the track.
Bruntingthorpe was
formerly used by the United States Airforce during the 50’s and 60’s as a heavy bomber base. The Aerodrome is home to the Cold War jet collection - Victor, Hunter, Canberra, Comet, Lightning, Harrier, Seahawk, Sea Vixon, Buccaneer, Jet Provost, Super Guppy, Iskra and Jaguar. All these wonderful aircraft will be available to view on the weekend. Not forgetting that it is also the home of the famous unforgettable Vulcan bomber which is now being restored.
The runway has excellent wide grass run-off areas. The circuit is never crowded and has ample room for everybody. The excellent catering facilities make this venue exceptional.
